Out like a lion!

2 Apr

We had a busy weekend!  We celebrated Kevin’s birthday, the end of Ella’s basketball season and had an easter egg hunt.

For Kevin’s birthday, we met up with a group of friends for drinks (lots and lots of drinks).  The band was able to pull together a few bars of Dead or Alive, which made the birthday boy very happy.  He apologizes again if you received any of his texts from that evening.  Here Kevin and the boys (and Lorraine).

Early the next morning (insert groan and massive headache) we rushed off to Ella’s last basketball game of the season.  She played in a co-ed league and held her own.  We are really proud of how she and teammate Jenna (Team Je-lla) played hard, improved their skills, and yes, made baskets!!!

As soon as Ella nabbed her trophy, we rushed home for a costume change.  Baskets in hand, courtesy of Grandma Kay, we walked to the Ambassador’s house for the Spring Fling.  It was barely 40 degrees, windy and overcast, but eggs equal chocolate and so we went.  Ella found her friend Nina and they were off to find the golden egg.  Dylan actually did find a golden egg and won a special reward!  Eggs found, we rushed home with frozen hands and snotty noses.

Needless to say, March went out like a lion, a cold wet lion, but a lion nonetheless.  And though I love chocolate as much as the next girl, I am hoping that the Easter Bunny brings me some sun!

Happy Birthday Kevin!! Your card will arrive someday, as you can guess it will be a cat card, so go ahead and share ella’s, probably the same. Looks like you had a fun day. Too bad about Duke, unfortunately, not many schools can hang with the SEC. Academic university….

hello to all of you. love you much.
